The grocery store can be feel overwhelming and going shopping can feel like a daunting task. And when you're trying to eat clean and every books says buy this, not that. You need this fancy and EXPENSIVE thing, and bla bla bla! AHH We have learned to love the grocery store and after some practice, and lots of mistakes, have semi-mastered shopping on a budget and sticking to our clean eating.
First things first - MAKE A LIST!!!!!

First off - again - know your taste buds!! Don't force yourself to buy broccoli when the smell of boiling it makes you gag. Don't get it! It is OK! You will one day learn to eat broccoli, or you may not, its ok. There are plenty of other nutrient rich foods that you will LOVE.
Most meats can freeze for a few weeks. Buy on sale!! If your grocery store is having a sale on ground beef, buy an extra container and freeze it!
